BEST PRACTISE
Pre warmed cups
We recommend to always use pre warmed cups when making coffee of all types. If not pre-warmed by the cup warmer on the top of the machine fill cup partially with hot water to heat the china.

Cups not mugs
As all dispensing buttons are programmed for quantity volumes it is best to use a standard size of cup or glass. Cup sizes of 220ml will give best results when using as opposed to mugs which are too large in volume.
GENERAL CLEANING
Steam wand
We recommend that each time the steam wand is used it is wiped thoroughly with a clean hot cloth. It is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to soak the tip of the steam wand in a tall glass over night to avoid clogging of the three small steam holes. When arriving in the morning remove the glass and operate the steam knob to clean any residual milk in the wand.

Milk Chiller
Always use 1 litre stainless steel jugs or 3 litre Decor plastic container inside the chiller. When cleaning is required remove jugs/container to clean in hot water or dishwasher. If milk is spilled insider chiller simply wipe with hot cloth.

Dreg drawer
Coffee waste is collected in the dreg drawer with the machine informing users (via display) when emptying is required. It is possible to remove bottom of the dreg drawer to allow coffee to pass through into a continer underbench. Work is required to provide an opening in the bench.

Display reads EMPTY GROUNDS
Coffee grounds are collected within the machine at the rear of the drip tray. Remove the drip tray and empty the coffee grounds and then replace.

Brew Unit
To remove brew unit firstly remove drip tray and dreg drawer. Push hot water tap aside and open front door. Grasp handle of brew unit with hand and PRESS down on release lever with thumb. Pull out away from machine. Rinse under running tap to remove coffee grounds and then reinsert. To clean filters in brew unit with cleaning tablet (avail for Coffee Select) enter the PROGRAM mode and scroll to GROUP RINSING . Press Enter and follow prompts through cycle.

Inside machine
Ensure that loose coffee grounds under Group are removed regularly.
PROGRAMMING

Automatic ON/OFF
Your machine can be set to turn ON and OFF for any seven days of the week. Alternatively it can operate manually.

Clock
As the automatic ON/OFF features of the machine rely upon the accuracy of time it is necessary to adjust for daylight savings. Call Coffee Select 9486 6939 for instruction or request service.
REGULAR MAINTENANCE - WEAR AND TEAR
Changing the water filter
On average the filter on the water supply line should be changed every six months. When changing the pumps in the machine require re-priming so it is best to call Coffee Select to change and reprime. Service charge will be $75 and $20 for a new cartridge.

At various points of coffee consumption certain parts on the machine should be replaced to ensure best performance. ie At 10,000 cups the two cup spreader with have developed plastic fatigue and cracks. At 20,000 cups your grinder should be recalibrated. We can monitor your machine production through an interpretation of the coffee provided over time and best advise you of the periodic requirements.
COFFEE TYPES
Your Saeco Modular Cappuccino has been calibrated to operate best with Coffee Select Ultimate blend. To use another of our four blends contact us to recalibrate the grinder.
